DOG BEACH | San Diego

I have been remiss about updating my blog lately, so in the next few days I hope to remedy that problem with some new posts sharing some experiences since last Christmas. I thought I would start out with Dog Beach, which is a leash free area to run your dog on the shore of the Pacific Ocean just north of San Diego. My wife Kim and I, along with our dog Shadow, spent a wonderful couple of weeks at her mother’s house on Point Loma in San Diego over Christmas and New Year’s Holidays. It was our first road trip with just Shadow since losing our black lab Splash in October. Shadow is a dog we...

Jack and Kim

Jack and Kim went up the hill, To ski at Mary Jane. When Kim fell down, Jack skied around, And asked her to walk the wedding lane. OK,OK, my poetry is lame, but my lovely niece did call me that day and told me that Jack proposed to her on the slopes at Mary Jane. I thought that was very romantic. I took alot of pictures that day of family and friends celebrating their engagement. A great time was had by everyone! I ended up putting those pictures into a book which I gave...

SPLASH – One Great Dog

It is rare in life that you find someone that will always want to do what you want to do, go where you want to go, give you unending love, and be there for you no matter what your mood. Plus give you wet kisses, have beautiful brown eyes, velvet jet black hair, and is always excited to see you every time you walk in the door. For me that someone was our Black Labrador named Splash. He was the only black lab out of a chocolate litter that came into the world on September 27th, 2001. Bringing him home the first day after being weaned, one of the first things he did after peeing inside the...

Kemah Boardwalk Photo Walk

On Saturday the 24th of July, I had the pleasure of participating, for my first time, in Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual World Wide Photo Walk. They had 1,110 groups and over 33,000 participants taking photos that day all around the world, pretty amazing. Our group had over 40 photographers and met at the Starbuck’s on the Kemah Boardwalk, in Kemah, Texas at 7:15 PM. Our walk organizer was Trudy LeDoux, and she did a great job leading our group. It wasn’t her first photo rodeo. Thank you Trudy. Even with all the rain we have been having in the Houston, Texas area, it could not have been a...

Fourth of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and remembered those who have given so much for our freedom. Thank you, Ray and Elaine for the great time that included cocktails, appetizers, hamburgers, hotdogs, slaw, beans with venison sausage, fruit salad, brownies, music, a dip in the pool, and a perfect place to watch the City of Sugar Land’s Fireworks overlooking 8th hole on Riverbend Country Club’s golf course. Thank You. Click HERE to view the Video...
